Job Summary Keep buildings or portions of campuses neat, clean and sanitary for use by the college community.Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm

Thoroughly clean restrooms daily using proper specified procedures as determined by supervisor.
Perform various building cleaning tasks including but not limited to: clean and vacuum carpets; maintain hard surface flooring; remove all trash and recycle materials; clean chalkboards, whiteboards, ledges and erasers; clean glass; wash windows; dust furniture; clean ceiling diffusers; clean trash cans; clean walls; clean out janitor’s closets; make repairs to equipment; other tasks as required or needed.

Essential Functions

Order and maintain appropriate custodial supplies from Physical Plant warehouse. Report building maintenance problems to Physical Plant, repair items, assist students, staff and instructors, lock and secure buildings before leaving.


Maintain light grounds work including but not limited to: snow removal of entryways; mowing; planting; fertilizing; and aeration.
Complete on-going training on operation of all equipment, safety regulations, and use of new products and techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications Ability to learn to operate extractors, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and related equipment.Ability to read and understand operating instructions.Ability to periodically move equipment/furniture/supplies weighing up to 75 pounds; occasionally climb ladders; frequently bend, reach, and push.Ability to interact effectively, courteously and impartially with diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications

Desired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.One year of custodial experience preferably with commercial cleaning including hard surfaces and restrooms.

Maximum Frequent:
    • Horizontal push/pull of 15 lbs of force up to 10 ft
Maximum Occasional:
  • Waist to floor lift of 50 lbs
  • Waist to shoulder lift of 40 lbs
  • Carry of 50 lbs up to 10 ft
Frequent:
  • Forward/lateral reaching
  • Forward bending/trunk rotation
  • Hand coordination
  • Standing/Ability to be Mobile

  • Grasping of up to 50 lbs of force
