DESCRIPTION


This is a pool of applicants for any substitute, part-time hourly, temporary positions that may become available in the Counseling Division at Napa Valley College.  Applications submitted to this temporary pool will be screened by the Office of Human Resources, Training & Development for minimum qualifications.  These temporary positions are at-will employment.

Possible positions that may fall under this Counseling Division temporary pool are:
 

  • Counseling Division Clerk ($16.00)
  • Counseling Services Specialist ($18.87)
  • Student Services Specialist, Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) ($19.74)
  • Student Services Specialist, Student Support Services (SSS) TRiO ($19.74)
  • Student Services Specialist, Transfer Center ($19.74)
 
The job descriptions for each job title are:
 
  • Counseling Division Clerk - The primary objective of this position is to perform a wide variety of clerical work in direct support of the Counseling Division and the Student Success and Support Program; to provide information to students and staff regarding counseling and matriculation processes, forms and procedures. 
  • Counseling Services Specialist - The primary objective of this position is to perform complex technical and paraprofessional tasks in providing direct assistance to students, counselors and administrators in the areas of General Counseling and Student Appointment and Reporting System (SARS) administration.
  • Student Services Specialist - The primary objective of this position is to provide students with support services and program activities within Student Services, which could include outreach and academic, career, transfer, and/or reentry.
